We are committed to making a difference in people’s lives in the Nuba Mountains by supporting education.
In Nuba, Kulu Means a life-giving water source. Kulu Development Organization exists as a life-giving support to the people of the Nuba Mts., Sudan. It’s a nonprofit founded in 2017 by a group of people from Nuba who live abroad; nevertheless, they’re extremely anxious about the conflict in their region.
OUR Programs
EDUCATION
The conflict has caused an immense disruption and tremendous destruction of education infrastructures in the Nuba Mountains.
FARMING
Krongo Payam has granted Kulu 10,000 acres of farmland for farming practice. The goal of this project is to provide meals
HEALTH
Healthcare system has always been insignificant program in the government services particularly in the marginalized states.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
For the last four years, we have been providing cash assistance to elderly and disable people in Sangali
CURRENT Projects
AGRICULTURE
We have cultivated 5,000 acres of our farmland this year. About 3,000 acres of sorghum and 2,000 acres of groundnuts or peanuts. We are expecting a good production this year according to Tariq, the regional director in Sangali, Nuba Mountains, Sudan. Our agricultural project is designed to provide meal program at schools. We have total of eight schools start from elementary to middle schools in Sangali Payam and we’re adding secondary school soon.
COMMUNITY MEETING
We organize meetings and conferences with local leaders and the community to discuss, identify and address social and economic challenges and provide them with better living opportunities. We encourage the community to register their children in schools, since there is a temporary ceasefire in place. We intent to provide possible solutions to their challenges.
EDUCATION
We paid school fees for some students who are not able to pay their fees. The school fee is meant to pay teachers’ incentives because there is no budget for education and after all it’s not enough, but people always sacrifice during struggle. We also paid for 8th grade’s national examination fees as well as transportation allowance to the exam centers. We also paid for their two months exam coaching or revision.
SANGALI HOSPITAL
We are building this facility in Sangali Hospital and it consists of three rooms: a waiting, a labor and a mortuary room. We are also building a bathroom and a laboratory as well. The constructors are finishing up plastering the interior and exterior of the building. After this facility is completed, then we will start working on Chruru Hospital; hopefully before the beginning of rainy season in the Nuba Mountains. It is about to collapse soon.

Our mission is to provide resources to the marginalized inhabitants of the Nuba Mountains in order to improve their wellbeing after civil war devastation.
